Last Friday, the GNS community gathered to celebrate the official opening of the Pemberton Woods Dining Hall and Kitchen.
The grand opening festivities took place in the Dining Hall itself, allowing the facility to be put to good use. Students, teachers, staff, families and friends of GNS were all in attendance, including three former heads-of-school and many of the donors who made the project possible.
After a ceremonial ribbon cutting, guests enjoyed the freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies that are quite famous amongst the student population (and for good reason!).
Fundraising for the Dining Hall project began in September 2015, and construction of the first phase began over Christmas Break, finishing shortly after students returned in early January.
The kitchen refurbishing took place during the summer break, and since the beginning of the school year the newly completed facility has re-established itself as a hub of activity for students in both the Middle and Senior Schools.
A sincere thank you to the generous donors who made this exciting renovation possible.
We couldn’t have done it without you!
